Lets Call A Spade A Spade!

Yes I know I have been a terrible blogger! :( *slaps own wrist* I am not going to sit here and make excuses because it’s not really what I want to write about to be honest. However I will say that I have had a few issues going on recently with some of my family so I have been putting that and work as a high priority in my life at the moment.

Anyway now that is out of the way I just feel like sitting here and talking to you all, seen as life has been a bit, shall I say poo recently, I have decided that I need to sort myself out and make the most of myself as much as I can. So I have been thinking about some things that I want to do so that I can work towards slapping myself round the face and telling myself to get a grip.

1-      Absolutely gut my wardrobe – I have spent so long buying clothes because they look good on my friends or because I want to wear that style, even if it doesn’t suit me. I am also very bad at throwing things out, I’m a little bit of a hoarder (my mother would disagree, she thinks I am the world’s worst hoarder) however I am not getting to the point where I have lots of clothes that I don’t wear and that I don’t like, so instead of just throwing them away, I am going to give them to a local charity shop, this also links in with another thing that I want to do which is ‘do something good for somebody else’

2-      Go to the gym at least twice a week – I have gone and got myself a gym membership because I am fed up of feeling lazy and groggy, I do actually really enjoy going to the gym and going swimming, and this is the package I have got at my local gym. So whether it’s the gym twice or 1 gym session and 1 swimming session, I am going to try my best to make myself stick to it!

3-      Lose some weight – I have said this to my mum and I got a grilling from her, telling me that I am fine the way I am and all that malarkey (that stuff mums say because they have to) but I want to do it for me, nobody else, I am a size 12/14 at the moment and id be happy being a 10/12, I know I am never going to be a tiny skinny mini, I am not built that way and neither is anyone from my family (minus my twin brother but he is like a stick insect, all arms and legs so we don’t count that)

4-      Start saving – money I mean, I am terrible at saving money! Like really terrible, money burns a hole in my pocket; however I need to start getting myself some savings together so that I can eventually hopefully move out of home into my own place. (or hopefully our own place)

5-      Be more positive – I am a bit of a negative person, I think that everything is going to go wrong, that everybody is saying something about me or that im going to get bad news. I am a bit of a paranoid weirdo really, however I want to be a lot more positive about things, so I am going to get some motivational quotes in my bedroom so that I can look at them and try and make myself more positive.

There are a few more things but I think that 5 is enough for a blog post, I will keep you guys updated as to how I get on.

Have any of you set yourselves any targets recently?

Lots of Love

Book Rave: Tales of a Gypsy Dressmaker

Hello everyone!

I hope that you are all okay, I have been away for the last 5 days at a festival, I shall do another post about it all shortly. However this is a very random post as you have probably guessed by the title.  I am a little bit of a book worm and I absolutely love finding new books to read and that kind of thing. So I was in ASDA with my Mum & Step-Dad the day before we were going away and I realised that I didn’t have a book to take with me so I went to see if they had anything interesting that I could take.

I spent absolutely ages looking at all of the books trying to decide what I wanted as there were so many that I was really interested in. I ended up choosing Tales of a Gypsy Dressmaker by Thelma Madine.

I had wanted to read this book ever since it came out as I am a massive fan of My Big Fat Gypsy Weddings. I think that it was around £3.50 in ASDA in paperback, which I though was an absolute bargain. They had a lot of paperback books in there for that price so I will be definitely going back to get some more shortly.

Anyway, I read the entire thing by Friday evening. I started it on Wednesday evening. That for me is quite quick to get through a whole book.  It may not be for some people but for me it is. I think that it did help that it was lovely and sunny and I was sat in a field listening to good music drinking cider :)  *hehe* I just couldn’t put the book down at all! I got so into it and really enjoyed it.

The book is basically an autobiography of her life. It says on the front “from hitting rock bottom to making girls dreams come true” and this is basically how I would describe it. She is so amazingly open and honest about everything that has happened in her life and I won’t spoil anything for anyone who hasn’t read it and wants to but I would 100% recommend this book to anyone who is a Big Fat Gypsy Weddings fan or even an autobiography fan. I really enjoy reading autobiographies; they are right up my street so it was a great selling point for me.

Anyway I know that this has been a very random post, and I shall be blogging a lot more soon as I am not going away anymore this year now.

Have any of you read this book? What did you think? Would you like to read it?

A Owl??

Hi Guys,

So, this is going to be one of the most random posts that I have ever done! I was just sat in my bedroom listening to music and reading a few blogs when I thought that this would be a random post to share with you guys!

I have a little bit of a random obsession with owls at the moment, (how many times have I said random already *HAHA*) it all started with my Auntie! We are practically like best friends, and we have such a laugh together and a standing joke between us is anything that you would normally say ‘an’ infront of we say A. Confused? Well basically like

A egg

A envelope

A OWL

Yes we are very strange but it just makes us laugh, and it is quite fun to try and say things like that because it does get a bit tricky, and it sounds hilarious!

So yea this is where it comes from, and basically at the moment everything owlish *real word?* I think is amazing!

I took this picture in HobbyCraft the other week, I sent it to my auntie off my phone because it’s a random thing we do.

Then when my Auntie and Uncle were away at a festival the other weekend she sent me this picture of my Uncle with a massive owl statue at the festival!

I am currently looking for an owl keyring and I also want a tshirt!

Yes I know that this is the most random thing ever but I just thought I’d share it with you!

Do any of you have a random obsession?

Lots of Love
